I have not. Maybe it's time to research this style again, because I do like me some Taddy.

I wouldn't brew this as listed here. It came out very different than a Taddy Porter for sure. The resulting batch was decent enough, but not a Taddy clone.

Bob, How did this turn out and how close was it to Taddy? I'm wanting to put a batch of this in the pipeline and forgot you had brewed one. Let me know!

So how do you think this turned out? Did you use Molasses or Black Treacle which I believe is the traditional ingredient? I really love Taddy Porter and would love give it a try some day so any experiences or knowledge would be great.

Brewing a Taddy Porter Clone Today...... maybe.

Post  r@fink on Fri Feb 11, 2011 6:05 pm

At least that's how it started. My inventory was a bit shy on chocolate so I added a little coffee malt and Carafa I to make up the difference. My pre boil gravity came out right on the nuts, and we're halfway through the boil right now. Might be considered a "kitchen sink" brew, but I still have high hopes. Cheers!
