Wow! You guys rock! I can grasp the idea of wild hops and malting barley, but finding naturally growing yeast? You can't even see those
critters! Yowser!

Or in case the grid drops us... like on the east coast when the storm rolled in.

Well, that makes sense. Especially with both Rocky and Ryan having brew quality rock collecting on their resumes now.

Is the Dickinson crew preparing to drop off the grid?

The Heart River Home Brewers are exploring getting back to the basics...
-Found wild hops along the Green River and used them in a brew. The hops are herbal and minty in flavor/aroma.
-Captured some local wild yeast. Made one brew with the yeast and will be working on isolation/propagation of it this fall/winter.
-Acquired some malting barley from local farmer and will begin malting it soon. This is not really new, we have been making malt for several years now.
-Pressed locally grown apples into nearly 30 gallons of juice for 6 different batches of hard cider.
Cheers!
