Re: Brewing in Mandan Tonight!
We had a good time in my opinion, great tasting wort. I made a brown, but substituted a grain for another and forgot to reduce the amount do to color. So it is a brown, but a bit darker and roastier that being to style. Live and learn, maybe it is a kick ass porter it definitely fits that style.
mike and randi stopped in, we shared his siason, and randi's pale. tyler brought his brown. and i had a bunch of stuff, an over carbonated strawberry blonde, my brown, my vanilla porter (didn't share) but brought 2 bottles and we had plenty to drink. also enjoyed my pale ale
it was nice to meet ryan earlier in the day as i was setting up for my brew.
here is the funny thing in my mind anyway. tyler had like 1 inch of room before boil over, didn't have one. i had 3-4" and did have a boil over turned out ok though 11 gallons of beer in primary at my house and 5.5 ish at his.
last note.... if you have to have hops and lots of them, hit tyler up for this one, it packs a punch!

I'll be there brewing an attempt at Stone's Arrogant Bastard using a recently converted and mostly untested Igloo cooler mash tun and I think Dennis is brewing a split batch of American Pale Ale.
It should be an interesting night if for no reason other than watching me fight with my new mash tun (and my boil kettle of not exactly adequate size).

Brewing in Mandan Tonight!
There's brewing happening TONIGHT at Wheels Wings-N-Hobbies (4018 Memorial Hwy, Mandan). The brewing starts at 6pm, swing past at anytime to check out these brews in progress. If you haven't smelled the lovely aromas of brewing, you must stop by and take that in. It's enchanting!
