On this one I used safeale-33 for simplicity. I was gonna use Wyeast Labs #1056 but I thought I'd give the safeale a try.

Yes I sure do. I will be bringing both versions to the meeting tomorrow. I have one with mollases & one w/o. I & others that have tried it like both but all agree the mollases made it perfect!

what yeast did you use? for your porter?

i always like tasting along the way, i think it gives you the best idea of any problems.

i am a bit bumbed out, i did not get to try out your pumkin, do you have any left?

Looking forward to it, Jayme! If it's anywhere close to your Pumpkin Ale, I'm sure it'll be great!

Yes pumpkin is in there as well! The mollasses & brown sugar were added right away & then nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla were added 10 min left of boil.

a good malt bill should have no trouble allowing you to have rich malt, and still support your spices, did you add spices to your boil last 15 min or so? did you add pumkin as well or just the spices?

Well, I got my pumpkin porter brewed today. The wort tasted AWESOME! I hope that's a good indication of what is to come!

I used my pumpkin spice recipe (which had AWESOME compliments) & a porter recipe (which I LOVE) & combined them. I hope I didn't give up too many of the porter properties but I also wanted the pumpkin spice to show through. I had Summit's pumpkin porter & it was delicious (don't get me wrong) but there wasn't any "pumpkin spice" there to taste. I was a little dissapointed in that respect. I hope I get what I was looking for in a pumpkin porter.
