The Best of Show prize for Hoppy Halloween 2012 is a 22 gallon stainless steel conical fermenter from Brewhemoth. Wouldn't one of those look great in your home brewery? The only way to win is to enter so get your beers ready and if you know someone road tripping to Fargo between Oct 1st and 20th, see if they will bring all that beer there for you to save on shipping.

Announcing Hoppy Halloween 15 – The Curse of the Mummy’s Thirst!

Post  Dean Gundberg on Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:12 am

That’s right, on October 27th an old favorite is coming out to play. With a lust for lautering and a thirst for fermented fluids his rampage will be monumental. Beware the beat of the cloth wrapped feet! The Hoppy Halloween Challenge is the Dakota's largest homebrewing competition with 464 entries last year and more expected in 2012.

To celebrate his arrival we will have special offerings fit for a Pharaoh. Awesome prizes, fantastic feedback, and of course medals hung from those amazing one of a kind handmade lanyards. In his honor all 1st place medals will be adorned with intricately wrapped mummy heads.

Also we are introducing another theme category, Fresh Killed Hops: "A wet hopped beer made with fresh undried hops that displays the character of those hops in the flavor and aroma"
Our skull master went above and beyond and the hop cones that adorn the first place are amazing.

The last piece is you. The main dates are listed below and keep tuned in to http://www.hoppyhalloween.com and join our facebook group for the latest info. We need your entries to quench his thirst and break this curse!!

Registration Opens: Sept 24
Entries Taken: Oct 1 – Oct 20
Judging: Oct 24 – 27
Awards Banquet: Oct 27th Howard Johnsons Downtown Fargo
