Re: Blues and Brews
The Ordinary Bitter I had planned to brew this morning morphed into an ESB as my extract rate was higher than anticipated. I had plenty of English hops on hand, so did some quick calculations to adjust to fit an ESB. My extract rates have been consistently >80%, so I guess I should consider that my target now. Active fermentation going this evening. The ESB has joined the other five fermenters I have bubbling along in the basement... Mead, Belgian Golden Strong Ale, Belgian Golden Ale, Farmhouse Saison and a special Peat-Smoked brew. I have to wait until some of these fermentations are complete before I can brew again
A Bohemian Pils, Belgian Golden Ale or the ESB are possibilities for B&B

LOL! No no, one Sabco is enough. Mike and I did a double brew day yesterday, which works pretty well on the Sabco; 2 beers for one clean up time.
Anyways, the brew I did yesterday I HAD planned to be my Brews and Blues entry... but you're right... it looks and smells way too good, I don't know if I want to share it
Definitely complicated.

Re: Blues and Brews
I think you guys should invest in another sabco so that you can be more productive on brew days!
Schwarzbier would be fun... that would make a nice addition to the B&B line-up (whatever that may be). Something special like that though it is kind of hard to watch it all go in one day! Those are the ones you kind of hope people aren't real fond of so that you can take some back home! I guess you could always brew 10 gallons. Damn, this brewing hobby is complicated!

Re: Blues and Brews
I don't do lighter colored beers or hoppy beers very well... The only "light" ones I do on a regular basis are a Kolsch and Czech Pils. So apparently it's gotta be cold or dark... or cold and dark... mmm Schwarzbier... gosh I should do that again too. Too many beers, not enough time!
Good thing I've got Mike around to brew everything else.
Isn't she cute! I think I might have to add her to my sig.

Nice! I like Maibocks, but I've never done one.
Actually, yes, I will be bringing a brew. It will be dark... yes, very dark. Muahahaha!
Heh, every season is a good season for a dark beer.

Re: Blues and Brews
Last year B&B was in May so I took a batch of my Maibock. I'm thinking the same this year. I do have a slight reservation in that at the last one we had almost, if not all, light-ish beers contributed from home brewers. So it is still up for grabs yet for me!
By chance is the 'queen of darkness' going to be contributing? That could make my decision easier.
