Re: Sorachi Ace Hops
My mind has been running rampant on coming up with ways to employ these puppies. The second thing that came to mind was a Sorachi Ace Saison (already been done), then I thought maybe they'd go perfectly with a Wit. I still think so. I've heard some folks complain that overuse can lead to a Pine-Sol situation, but I know the 1 oz of leaf hops I used was subtle and pleasant in the finished wort.ryanjilek wrote:Do you ever feel like you are visiting at the dinner table!
They sound interesting. I wonder how they would compliment the orange and coriander in a Wit? Is the lemon dominant or fairly subtle? Might be interesting in a straight wheat beer too. I'll have to look them up do some checking on them.
By the way, Ryan, check your private messages!

Just used 'em this last Sunday. In fact, I think you were there...Anyway, they came out more lemony-lemon grass than anything. It's pretty pleasant, but we'll see how that amber turns out. In the mean time, I'll enjoy the smells coming from the airlock.

Sorachi Ace Hops
Has anyone used the Sorachi Ace Hop? I just received a lb of them. They're supposed to be a lemony hop, but they've got a bit of a dill smell to them.
Just wondering if anyones tried them and what kind of results you had?
